7th Salon of Cuban Contemporary Art
The Centre for the Development of Visual Arts (Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales/ CDAV) and the National Council of Plastic Arts (Consejo Nacional de las Artes Plásticas/ CNAP) are proud to present the seventh edition of the Salon of Cuban Contemporary Art. Titled An Essay of Collaboration, the event will be inaugurated on Friday the 27th of October and will run until January 2018.
Since its first edition in 1995, the Salon has provided a space to reflect upon the varying trajectories of Cuban art, framed by investigatory practices established by a group of specialists at CDAV.
On occasion of the 7th Salon, the focus has been placed on the importance and necessity of COLLABORATION in all its plurality of forms and co-existence, which benefits the act of creation and the future of Cuban art. The exhibition will be composed of more than forty projects, accompanied by a programme of various artistic interventions, conferences and workshops about national artistic production, that will be presented in CDAV itself, as well as other spaces across the country.
