Donis Llago (1985) is a young artist graduated in 2004 from the School of Art Instructors and in 2008 from the San Alejandro Academy of Havana. The use of transparencies as the main resource used in his works, have given great popularity to them.
The city is the first element in which Llago focused his attention. Her peculiar vision made him see it as the space where, with its particularities and characteristics, stories, personal experiences of those who inhabit it are the center of his production. The universe around him is his center of attention and inspiration. Through a distant look, lines and the use of glass when it comes to representing volumetric bodies makes evident his interest in cartography the territory to which he pays attention. The malecon, streets of Old Havana, and other spaces that pass unknowns are chosen as the center of his work.
Among Donis' personal exhibitions are "Fachadas" at the Center for the Development of Visual Arts (2015), Transparencies at Galiano Gallery (2015) and High Voltage Maps, exhibited at the Morro Cabaña Park on the occasion of the XII Biennial of La Havana. Likewise his works have been present in numerous collective exhibitions.
