The Centro de Desarrollo de Artes Visuales was founded in 1989 as part of an initiative by the Consejo Nacional de las Artes Plasticas. The organisation benefits from the constant innovation of Cuban contemporary artists, both renowned and emerging.  One of the central activities of the Centro is to host temporary exhibitions capturing the newest and most exciting moments in Cuban contemporary art. The centre aims to connect Cuban art with the international art scene, solidfying its nature as both a national and international Cuban art institution.
