From its beginnings, the premises of the Galiano Avenue in the center of the city, was conceived for exhibition purposes. During the eighties and nineties, Galiano Gallery was positioned as one of the most important in Havana and it held fundamental exhibitions for the History of Cuban Art.
After a period of changes, the year 2013 marked a new beginning for this space. An extensive remodeling in privilege of a contemporary aesthetic turned the Galiano Gallery into a center of reference within the galerístico circuit of the city.
In addition, his profile was directed toward young art and began to function as a venue for contemporary Cuban production. It has become the first space of visualization of emergent figures, mainly coming from the art schools.
Gallery Galiano belongs to the National Center of Plastic Arts Havana Collage of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Property, and commercializes the Cuban contemporary art inside and outside the country. It works with manifestations of diverse type: painting, sculpture, photography, engraving, installation, video art, among others.
