Built in 1930 and located in one of the most popular areas of Havana, the National Hotel has been a symbol of Cuba for more than seventy years. Originally inspired in the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida today is a national monument and an obligate visit for all tourists that come to Cuba. Today at the National Hotel many events, conferences, meetings take place. In the decade of 1940, the hotel gained notoriety when Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano stayed there. Many important personalities have been at the National Hotel such as Frank Sinatra, Gary Cooper, Ava Gardner, Walt Disney and recently Robert Redford, Kevin Costner, Johnny Deep, Danny Glover, Stephen Spielberg, Ford Coppola, Oliver Stone just to mention a few of them. From the gardens of the Hotel there´s one of the most amazing views of the Malecon.
