If one word could describe Le Chansonnier it would be chic. Having reopened in 2011 under the watchful eyes of Hector Higueras, Le Chansonnier’s previously rustic and antique filled interiors have been turned into a white cube type space. Works by accomplished Cuban contemporary artists grace the white washed walls, with entire walls being filled with installation pieces by artist Damián Alquiles. The food curated to keep with the French chic theme consists of mustard filled sauces and delicately spiced fish and meat options, whilst maintaining the heart of Cuban cuisine—large portions. The restaurant ambiance, menu and decor screams style and moda, and yet do so in an understated manner.
